Convert a PowerPoint deck to PDF
Sending a deck as a PDF solves several problems at once. It opens on any device without PowerPoint, the fonts and layout cannot shift on someone else's machine, nobody edits your slides by accident, and the file is usually far smaller. For circulating a deck after a meeting, or attaching it to an application, it is almost always the right format.
The conversion is a straightforward render: one slide, one page, at the slide dimensions. A 16 by 9 deck produces a widescreen PDF rather than being squeezed onto A4, which is what you want on screen and worth knowing about if the file is going to be printed on paper.
What does not survive is anything that moves or is hidden. Animations and transitions are gone, since a page cannot animate. Embedded video and audio cannot play. Speaker notes are not included on the slide pages, so if the recipient needs them, export a notes layout from PowerPoint itself rather than relying on the conversion. Build to the same rule as any Office conversion: use common fonts, or embed the ones you depend on.

Get a better result
Static slide content comes through faithfully, including text, images, charts and backgrounds. Animations, transitions, embedded video and audio have no equivalent in a document and are dropped.
Know how your file is handled
Slide rendering needs an Office compatible engine that cannot run in a browser, so the presentation is processed on our server and deleted once the PDF has been created.
Check before you share
A missing font changes line wrapping, which can push text out of a box, and media linked from elsewhere rather than embedded is not available to the server.

How do I convert PowerPoint to PDF?
Upload the PPT or PPTX file, confirm the slide count, select Convert to PDF, then open the result and check the text, images and backgrounds on each page.
Are speaker notes included?
No. The conversion renders the slides themselves. If the notes have to be shared, export a notes page or handout layout to PDF from PowerPoint, which produces a different document.
Do my animations survive in the PDF?
They are dropped, because a PDF page is static. Anything that only made sense while moving should be reconsidered before the deck is circulated as a document.
Will embedded video or audio work?
No. Media cannot play inside a standard PDF page. Where a video was central to the slide, add a link to it so readers can watch it separately.
Why is my PDF widescreen instead of A4?
Because each page matches the slide size, and most modern decks are 16 by 9. That is correct for on screen reading. Change the slide size in PowerPoint before converting if the file must print on A4.
Can I put several slides on one page?
Not from this tool, which renders one slide per page. PowerPoint handout layouts can place two, four or six slides on a sheet, so export that from PowerPoint if you need it.
Why does some text overflow its box?
Almost always a missing font. A substitute with different letter widths changes line wrapping, which can push a line out of a fixed text box. Use common fonts or embed the ones you rely on.
Is my presentation uploaded?
Yes. Slide rendering needs an Office compatible engine not available in a browser, so the file is processed on our server and removed once the PDF is ready.
The PDF is very large. How do I reduce it?
Decks are usually heavy because of full bleed photographs. Compress PDF at the Balanced setting typically cuts the size substantially while still looking right on screen. Compress PDF
Can I convert only some slides?
Hide the slides you do not want in PowerPoint before uploading, or convert the whole deck and then remove those pages from the PDF. Remove Pages
