Price lists, invoices, inventory reports, exam results, GST returns, trial balances: all meant to be read, none of them meant to be calculated with. Always check the result against the PDF, particularly the numbers. The two things worth a specific look are dates, which can be read in the wrong order depending on the format used, and any column where a value could be mistaken for text. Each page is analysed in turn, so a table split by a page break can come through as separate blocks with the header repeated. Stacking them in the spreadsheet afterwards is usually quick.
Are the numbers usable in formulas?
Values that are recognised as numeric arrive as numbers and can be totalled straight away. Check any column where a currency symbol, bracketed negative or thousands separator might have made a value read as text.
