Big PDF Tools

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Big PDF Tools handles, why it is handled, and what choices you have when using our website, mobile app and document tools.

Effective and last updated: 14 July 2026

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Big PDF Tools website, the Big PDF Tools mobile app, their PDF and document utilities, and messages sent to our published contact address. By using them, you acknowledge the practices described here.

This policy does not cover websites or services operated by other organizations, even when we link to them.

2. Information we may handle

Depending on how you use the website or app, we may handle:

  • files you deliberately select for processing;
  • contact information and message contents when you email us;
  • your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter (every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link);
  • account information such as your name, email address, login method, session details, subscription status, and purchase history when you create or use an account;
  • for Pro accounts, a download history of server jobs: file name, tool, file size and date (not the file itself);
  • billing references, payment status, currency, amount, and invoice information for subscriptions;
  • technical request information such as IP address, browser or device type, app version, referring page, requested URL, date and time, and error, crash or security logs;
  • cookie, consent, advertising, or analytics identifiers when those technologies are enabled.

Payment card, bank, or UPI credentials are entered into the payment provider's checkout (Razorpay on the website, Google Play in the Android app) and are not intended to be stored by Big PDF Tools.

3. How document files are processed

On-device tools. Many operations—including merging, splitting, rotating, extracting or removing pages, watermarking, and several image/text conversions—run locally in your browser or on your phone. For those operations, document contents do not need to be sent to our document-processing server.

Server-based tools. Compression, OCR, password protection and Office/HTML conversions require server software. When you use one of these tools, your selected file is transmitted to the configured processing infrastructure and may be held temporarily while the job is queued, processed, and made available for download. Results are deleted automatically after the retention period shown for the tool.

We do not sell uploaded documents or use their contents to personalize advertising. Do not upload a file unless you have the right to process it. Avoid submitting highly sensitive documents unless you are comfortable with the processing method shown on that tool's page.

4. Why we use information

Information may be used to provide the requested tool, deliver a converted file, troubleshoot failures, secure the service, prevent abuse, measure general performance, respond to messages, comply with legal obligations, and improve usability.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may rely on performance of the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, consent, or compliance with law.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags, and device or advertising identifiers. They may support essential functions, remember choices, measure traffic, prevent fraud, and deliver or measure advertising.

On your first website visit, our consent panel lets you accept, reject, or customize optional Analytics and Advertising storage. Necessary storage remains active. We save the consent record in first-party browser storage for up to one year, unless you clear it or update your choice through the "Cookie consent" link in the footer. In the mobile app, the consent form shown on first launch controls advertising choices, and you can change them from the Account tab.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the website keeps advertising personalization disabled in its own consent settings.

You can restrict or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some technologies may affect website or advertising functionality.

6. Advertising (Google AdSense and AdMob)

We do not sell personal information for money. Some US state privacy laws may define disclosure for personalized advertising as a "sale" or "sharing." You can open "Cookie consent" in the website footer, or the ad choices in the app's Account tab, and opt out of ad personalization and cross-context use without necessarily turning off basic ad delivery. We also honor detected Global Privacy Control signals in our consent interface.

We may use Google AdSense (website), Google AdMob (app) or other advertising partners to fund the service. When Google advertising code is active, Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, page URLs, advertising identifiers and other identifiers to serve, limit, personalize, and measure ads, and to detect fraud and abuse. Ads are not shown to Pro subscribers.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's current or previous visits to this or other websites. Depending on your location and choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.

Learn how Google uses information from partner sites in Google's partner-sites notice. You can manage Google ad personalization through My Ad Center and partner-ad settings at Google Ads Settings.

Where required, an appropriate consent mechanism must be used before non-essential advertising storage or personalized advertising is activated. A privacy policy by itself does not replace legally required consent.

7. Analytics, crash reports and service providers

We may use hosting, database, authentication, content delivery, security, document processing, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, email, and payment service providers. These providers may process limited information on our behalf or under their own published terms and privacy policies. Razorpay may process checkout, payment, fraud-prevention, and billing information for purchases on the website. Purchases in the Android app are processed by Google Play; our server confirms each purchase and its renewals, cancellations and refunds directly with Google.

If analytics is enabled, it may collect aggregated usage information such as visited pages or screens, which tool was run, approximate location, device characteristics, and interaction events. Crash reports contain technical device and app state. We do not intentionally connect document contents with advertising or analytics profiles.

8. Retention and deletion

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was handled, security and troubleshooting, legal requirements, accounting, or dispute resolution. Retention can differ between on-device operations, temporary paid-result storage, account records, payment records, infrastructure logs, consent records, and correspondence.

Locked conversion outputs are intended to expire automatically after the retention period displayed for the tool or purchase. Payment and invoice records may be retained longer where required for accounting, fraud prevention, tax, chargeback, or legal purposes.

Because on-device files stay under your control, you can remove results and clear app data directly on your device. You can delete your account from the website dashboard or from the app's Account screen; the steps are at bigpdftools.com/delete-account. For questions about a server-processed file or a privacy request, contact us using the address below and provide enough information to identify the relevant request without sending another copy of the document.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect the service and processing systems. However, no internet transmission, application, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for keeping sensitive source files, downloaded results, and document passwords secure.

10. Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. These rights can be subject to legal exceptions and verification requirements.

You may also manage cookies in your browser, use an available consent control to change advertising choices, and stop using the service. To make a privacy request, email contact@bigpdftools.com.

11. Children's privacy

Big PDF Tools is a general-audience productivity service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review the request.

12. International processing

Our users and service providers may be located in different countries. Information processed by server-based tools or infrastructure providers may therefore be handled outside your state, province, or country, where privacy laws may differ.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when tools, providers, advertising practices, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes may also be highlighted on the website or in the app where appropriate.
