A JPG goes places a PDF does not. WhatsApp previews it inline, a website can show it without a plugin, a slide deck accepts it as a picture, and anyone can open it on any device without thinking about it. That is usually why people convert: not because the PDF was wrong, but because the destination wants an image.
Resolution is the only setting that really matters, and the right value comes from where the image is going. 150 DPI is plenty for reading on a screen or sending in a chat. 300 DPI is the number to choose if someone will zoom in on small print or print the result. Going higher mostly produces a very large file that looks identical.
Be clear about what you lose. Once a page is a JPG, its text is pixels. You cannot search it, select it, or copy a paragraph out of it, and converting it back to PDF gives you a PDF containing a picture rather than the original document. Keep the source PDF. If you need sharp edges on diagrams and screenshots rather than photographs, PNG is the better format.

What resolution should I pick?

Why did I get a ZIP file?
Because the document had more than one page. Each page becomes its own image, and a browser cannot deliver a dozen separate downloads from one action, so they are bundled together.
Can I convert only one page?

Can I still search or select the text afterwards?

Will the JPG have a white background?

Why are my images so large?
